Everton loan bid to sign Danny Ings rejected, Aston Villa could accept permanent deal
Everton have had a loan bid for Aston Villa striker Danny Ings rejected in the January window, as reported by Dominic King.
The Daily Mail journalist wrote on Twitter (4 January) that the only way Villa will allow Ings to leave is by offloading him permanently.
Ings has got loads of experience in the Premier League, and a host of clubs are vying for his signature this month.
“Everton have had a bid to sign Danny Ings on loan rejected by Aston Villa. The only way Villa will allow Ings to move is on a permanent deal. A number of other clubs are interested in him. Be a situation to watch,” wrote King on Twitter.
Experience
The Toffees badly need to sign a new striker in the January window, and Ings would be a smart addition to the club.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has recently returned to full fitness, while Neal Maupay has cut a disappointing figure since joining the club in the summer from Brighton.
The 30-year-old has a contract at Villa until 2024, and they are unlikely to let him go out on loan. He has made eight starts in the Premier League this season, and a further eight appearances have come from the bench where he scored five goals.

The former Liverpool striker is a natural goalscorer. He scored 46 goals in 100 appearances during his time at Southampton and also scored over 40 goals for Burnley.
In two seasons at Villa, he has managed 13 goals for the club. He is the kind of player who can win you matches given proper services, and Ings would be a very good addition for the Toffees.
However, Villa will accept a permanent deal, which means the Toffees will have to pay a handsome fee to get him on board.
