Kaveh Solhekol: Everton turn attention to Danny Ings are behind-the-scene plans emerge
Everton are trying “behind the scenes” to strengthen their squad in January, and they “desperately” need goals, as they turn their attention towards signing Danny Ings, as reported by Kaveh Solhekol.
The Sky Sports journalist reported on 4 January (19:24pm, as relayed by Sky Sports transfer blog) that Aston Villa have rejected a loan offer from the Toffees.
The Toffees are “trying” to get the deal done, but Villa will only sell the 30-year-old on a permanent deal.

Over to you, Thelwell
The Toffees have dropped down to the relegation zone after West Ham secured a 2-2 draw against Leeds on Wednesday (4 January) at Elland Road.
If the club want to maintain continuity that is keep their faith in Frank Lampard, they must back him with funds in the January window.
The Toffees badly need a striker, and Ings would be a terrific addition to the side.
The Villa striker is currently not playing regularly under Unai Emery and he could be lured away. He is a natural finisher and has scored six goals already this season in eight starts in the league.

He can operate as a lone striker or Lampard can use him alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin depending on the situation of the game.
Summer signing Neal Maupay has cut a frustrating figure at the club since his arrival from Brighton, and Lampard needs more quality upfront.
Ings has a contract at Villa Park until 2024, but he should be available at a decent price. Over to you, Kevin Thelwell, to get the deal done.
