Everton consider permanent transfer bid for Aston Villa striker Danny Ings with Crystal Palace also keen

Everton are reportedly considering making a permanent transfer bid for Aston Villa striker Danny Ings after seeing their loan offer turned down.

According to TEAMtalk journalist Harry Watkinson, Premier League rivals Crystal Palace are also keen on securing the England international’s services.

It’s understood that much like the Toffees, Palace are also lining up a bid to get him out of Villa Park in January.

Via Twitter, Watkinson wrote, “Everton are considering making a second offer for Aston Villa striker Danny Ings, this time on permanent basis, after having initial loan offer rejected. Crystal Palace are also lining up a bid for Ings.”

What’s the price?

Ings certainly would be an impact signing at Goodison Park and help share the goal-scoring burden with Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

However, the Toffees do not have deep pockets this month and cannot outspend the competition if they’re up against them in a transfer battle.

Everton

It seems like Palace are intent on signing him too so that means Villa will not have to budge too much with their valuation for the 30-year-old.

The Mirror report (6 January, page 58) claimed that the striker is valued at a colossal £25million and that Unai Emery still wants to retain his services.

However, these things change once crazy bids arrive and Everton should not consider even once to pay that kind of money for a 30-year-old.

His resale value would be close to nothing and his injury record suggests that he’ll be more of a liability given his lack of availability over the last few seasons.
