Arnaut Danjuma will hold talks with Villarreal over exit as Everton eye move

Arnaut Danjuma will hold talks with Villarreal over a potential exit in January in the next few days, as reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The Guardian journalist wrote on Caughtoffside (12 January) that the Dutch forward is keen to return to the Premier League having previously played for AFC Bournemouth.

Nottingham Forest are also interested, while there are other clubs who are involved in the “open race” to sign the versatile forward.

Get it done

Frank Lampard has received unflinching support from Farhad Moshiri which gives an indication that the Toffees feel he is the right man for the job.

The Toffees are struggling in the relegation zone at the moment, and unless there are new additions to the club, they could find themselves in a similar situation as they were last season.

While a proactive style is required to win more games, Lampard probably feels that he doesn’t have the players to play expansive football.

The potential addition of Danjuma will be a huge boost for the club.

The 25-year-old was superb for the Yellow Submarines last season. He scored 10 goals in La Liga and proved his quality under Unai Emery.

However, he has struggled to make an impact this season, managing only two goals in six starts thus far. He could be allowed to leave in January, but Everton are expected to face a lot of competition.

Due to the club’s parlous financial situation, the Toffees probably will look to sign him on loan.
