Daily Mail journalist reacts as Farhad Moshiri points blame at Everton fans in interview
Mike Keegan has labelled Farhad Moshiri’s interview on talkSPORT an “utter car crash” after the Everton owner laid siege on the Goodison Park faithful in a stunning rant.
The club’s fan forum wrote an open letter (11 January) to the under-pressure Everton owner venting their anger at the direction the club is moving both on and off the pitch.
After taking the brunt of criticism this season, Moshiri took a swipe back at the Toffees fanbase in a talkSPORT interview with Jim White on Thursday (12 January), blaming them for influencing a number of his decisions that have ended badly.

Reacting to the interview, Daily Mail journalist Mike Keegan tweeted: “Just head the Farhad Moshiri interview on talkSPORT.
“Utter car crash. ‘I’ve put my money where my mouth is’ cannot be disputed – the issue is the decisions that mouth has made. And blaming one of the best sets of supporters in England for manager churn? Delusional.”
From bad to worse
If Moshiri thought fan anger towards him was initially bad, this interview would have made things ten times worse.
What on earth was going through his mind during his rant against the Toffees faithful? Did the majority owner really think this was going reverse opinions on him? If so, Moshiri is delusional and clearly doesn’t understand what Everton football club is all about.
The fans have stuck with Frank Lampard and his squad this season on the whole, despite some dreadful football being played at times, and their support of the team must be credited.
Yes, Moshiri has dug deep into his pockets during transfer window’s gone by, and yes, he lured the likes of Carlo Ancelotti to the club, but blaming the fans for the club’s merry-go-round of managers shows a lack of accountability.
The likes of Ancelotti, Sam Allardyce and Rafael Benitez all failed to meet expectations under Moshiri, but the one constant during all their reigns was the man in the boardroom. The penny may finally have dropped for the Everton faithful. Moshiri was the problem all along.
