Everton transfer news as proposals made for Dango Ouattara this week
Everton have had “several bids” turned down by FC Lorient for attacker Dango Outattara this week, according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi.
The Toffees are in the market to bolster their attacking options after just 14 goals in 18 Premier League games so far this season, leaving them in the relegation zone on goal difference.
And 20-year-old Ouattara has caught their attention enough for them to make several bids, with Genuardi saying that the Blues have been “active” this week in the transfer market.
“The FCL [Lorient] even refused several proposals from [the] Toffees who have been active since the beginning of the week,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (13 January).
Genuardi wrote earlier in the day that Everton were one of three Premier League clubs in the race for Ouattara, while also claiming they were pursuing deals for Anthony Elanga and Arnaut Danjuma.
Options
Everton need a forward or two and everyone, including the selling clubs, knows it.
But it’s great to see that the club are active in the transfer market and not putting all their eggs in the basket of one signing, but are chasing multiple at the same time to ensure a deal can be done.

Lampard has obviously got a list of targets that he would be happy to bring in, and if the club are in a position where they get more than one bid accepted then he may have a decision to make.
However those are the decisions that you want to see the club making, positive ones that can help the club’s situation rather than which star player may have to be sold to keep the club afloat.
All this will mean nothing if they can’t get it over the line, and as we approach the half way point there will be some nervous fans, but at least we can take comfort in the fact they’re really trying to get it done.
