Aston Villa striker Danny Ings transfer preference shared amid Everton and Wolves links

Aston Villa striker Danny Ings is not reportedly keen on moving to either Everton or Wolves in the January transfer window.

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, the English striker has recently built a new house and is unlikely to be a fan of changing cities.

The Mirror reported on 14 January that Wolves would be rivalling the Toffees for the services of the 30-year-old this month.

Crook told Give Me Sport, “He’s just built a new house in the local area, so that comes into play, you know, whether Mrs Ings will be in favour of rerouting. I was told he wasn’t particularly keen on joining an Everton or a Wolves.”

Not worth the hassle

Ings may be a striker that can score goals consistently if provided the right kind of services, but he’s 30 and injury prone.

He’s a clinical finisher and can score with both feet and his head so we can understand why the board would want to pursue his services.

Given how good he is in the air, he can also be a threat from set pieces, but the fee Villa are quoting does not seem to be reasonable in any way.

It has been reported that the Toffees would have to shell out a £20million fee if they are to sign him and that’s clearly not what they would have in mind for someone who’s only going to be there for the short term.

Instead, they can invest that money in someone younger and not injury prone who will be there at the club for the better part of the decade.
