Everton hold weekend talks for Arnaut Danjuma transfer as player sales needed

Everton held weekend talks over the potential transfer of Villareal attacker Arnaut Danjuma as they look to strengthen in January, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported in its print edition [January 17, pg. 66] that the Toffees still need to sell players as they look to strengthen their squad for Premier League survival.

Frank Lampard is currently hanging on to his job by a thread, so new reinforcements would certainly help his cause at the club beyond this weekend.

Writing in his latest transfer snippet for the Daily Mail, Simon Jones shared the latest over potential incomings and outgoings at Goodison Park across the next two weeks.

“Everton still need to sell but held talks with Bournemouth target Arnaut Danjuma over the weekend,” he wrote.

Everton

Brilliant.

This would be a sensational piece of business, but it is hard to see it getting done at this moment in time.

Danjuma shined in the Champions League last season, so it is strange that the Toffees and Bournemouth are the two clubs pushing on, and not any higher in the Premier League.

Lampard is desperate for attacking reinforcements and has been ever since he arrived really, with the summer exit of Richarlison only doubling that desire.

Although not mentioned, this is no doubt a loan push from Everton, who aren’t exactly in a position to splash the cash under Farhad Moshiri at this moment in time.

Whether or not a deal can be brokered to suit both parties remains unseen, but Kevin Thelwell and Lampard are certainly trying to bring someone in.

All eyes are certainly on Goodison Park as we enter the second stage of the transfer window, can this one be done? Only time will tell.
