Michail Antonio could seal Everton move as West Ham United look to seal Terem Moffi deal

It’s been a slow start to the January transfer window for Everton and Frank Lampard with the Toffees yet to add to their squad.

There have been numerous players linked to Goodison Park over the past couple of weeks, with Lampard clearly eager to land another attack-minded player.

talkSPORT report (16 January) West Ham United forward Michail Antonio is a player who is on the Toffees’ radar, however, it remains to be seen if the Hammers would be happy to sell to a relegation rival.

The 32-year-old Jamaican international has seen his game time slashed in the 2022/23 season and has been used predominantly as a substitute. Although, with David Moyes only having two strikers to call upon at present, it’s unlikely he would be willing to let Antonio depart.

However, newspaper journalist Alan Nixon has revealed (via his personal Patreon, 18 January) West Ham have opened contract talks with Lorient striker Terem Moffi, with the Hammers now confident their £25million bid will be accepted by the Ligue 1 side.

Should another striker arrive at the London Stadium, Moyes could well be inclined to cash in on Antonio, with the veteran striker now entering the latter stages of his career.

Nixon has also suggested (16 January) that Wolves are interested in the Jamaican striker, with Everton’s Premier League rivals prepared to dish out £10million on the forward.

Signing Antonio would be a short-term fix for Everton and would be in line with their recent transfer business, however, considering their poor form and need for goals it’s certainly a move Lampard will be considering.
