PSV Eindhoven make approach for Everton target Arnaut Danjuma
PSV Eindhoven are looking to beat Everton and a host of Premier League clubs to the signing of Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma, according to 90min.
The Daily Mail reported (print edition, January 17, pg. 66) that Everton had held talks over a move for the 25-year-old attacker.
However, 90min have since suggested (18 January) that PSV are now in the race to sign the Dutchman and have made an approach. It’s believed Danjuma is keen to return to Holland and play under Ruud van Nistelrooy, who views him as the ideal replacement for Cody Gakpo.

Heating up
Danjuma is attracting attention from all over and a move is looking like a tough task for the Toffees to pull off. He’s exactly what Frank Lampard needs at the moment, with his squad currently miles short in an attacking sense. Everton have been toothless at times this season and if the board fail to act, Premier League survival will be a tough task.
It appears the board are at a crossroads when it comes to Lampard’s future and their transfer activity. On the one hand, they could be reluctant to give the former Chelsea boss any backing if he is potentially set to lose his job, however, on the other, is the desperate need to strengthen the squad.

The weekend’s game against West Ham appears to be the last chance saloon for the 44-year-old. West Ham are a direct relegation rival and failure to pick up a positive result will surely make his position untenable.
After the defeat to Southampton, it’s difficult to envisage the Toffees picking up three points at the London Stadium on Saturday (21 January).
