Sean Dyche not approached as Frank Lampard sack will not be cheap for Everton
Frank Lampard is set to learn his Everton fate on Monday (23 January) as the Toffees are ready to end his 357-day reign as a manager, according to journalist Dominic King.
Writing for The Daily Mail (23 January, page 7), King reports that dispensing with Lampard (along with his five staff), who still has 18 months left on his contract will not be cheap.
Farhad Moshiri has paid close to £40m in severance pay to five previous managers since 2016.

Sean Dyche has been “heavily linked” in recent weeks, but the former Burnley manager has not been approached. In fact, he is not even high on the list of priorities for the club as well.
Likewise, Nuno Espirito Santo was considered after Carlo Ancelotti left, but he is currently with Al-Itihaad in Saudi Arabia.
Another option for the club could be to promote former players like Leighton Baines, who is in charge of Under-18. Under-21 head coach, Paul Tait, could also be considered to oversee matters.
Mess
Former Toffees player, Tony Cottee, shared on Twitter on 22 January that the Toffees board should stick with Lampard, as it doesn’t look good for the club to change their managers frequently.
It’s a fair point, but Lampard still deserves to go. With the club lying 19th in the table, he doesn’t impart confidence that he is the right man to take the club forward.
Everton are winless in their last 10 games in all competitions. They have lost six out of their last eight Premier League games, drawing the other two.

The confidence in the team is shattered, and the club need a fresh outlook.
One can point out the lack of investment and poor administration, and those are valid points, but that doesn’t add up to this shambolic effort from the Toffees on the pitch.
Everton do have quality players, and this team doesn’t deserve to fight the relegation battle for the second season in a row. A tactically smart manager could have found a way to at least get points on board, and that’s why Lampard needs to go.
