Everton make transfer approach for Lorient striker Terem Moffi
Everton have reportedly made an approach to sign Lorient striker Terem Moffi but he prefers a move to Nice in the January transfer window.
According to Foot Mercato [23 January], the Nigeria international is up for sale this month but the Ligue 1 side are looking at £22million to part ways with him.
The 23-year-old has turned down the initial approach from the Toffees, West Ham and Southampton as he appears keen on staying in France.
Move on
Everton need to stop chasing players that are not keen on a move to Goodison Park and that seems to be the case with Moffi.
He is doing well in Ligue 1 and does not want to move out of his comfort zone which is fair enough and it’s time to move on.
The Toffees surely will have a list of strikers that they’ll be considering in the January transfer window and it now remains to be seen who they end up signing.
There are plenty of off-field issues that need sorting out first and Farhad Moshiri first has to deal with who the next manager will be.
He’s sacked another manager in the middle of a transfer window and maybe the new manager will not want to sign Moffi either.
It’s understood that Wayne Rooney has the backing of an Everton shareholder and there’s a good chance they make an approach to bring him from DC United.
