Anthony Gordon won’t return to Everton as he tries to force through transfer to Newcastle United
Anthony Gordon has told Everton he will not be returning to the club as he looks to force through a transfer to Newcastle, according to the Daily Mail.
Gordon has gone AWOL at Goodison Park after skipping training for three days in a row, with absences on Wednesday and Thursday unexplained according to Sky Sports News (26 January).
But now Gordon has told the club he has no intention of returning to the club, essentially forcing their hand in negotiations with the Magpies about a January sale.

“Anthony Gordon has told Everton he has no intention of returning to his boyhood club as he tries to force a move to Newcastle United,” they wrote (26 January).
Everton are demanding between £55-60m for the 21-year-old who has 18 months left on his contract, while Newcastle aren’t willing to go above £40m, putting the deal at risk.
Shocking
Gordon was a local hero 12 months ago and at the end of last season he was seen as the great saviour at Goodison Park for his performances.
He got handed the number 10 shirt and was seen as an undeniable starter at the club, with some fans even applauding the decision not to sell him to Chelsea during the summer window.

But this season that has all been thrown out of the window with his poor performances on the pitch and awful attitude off it, and this just tips the scale.
Everton need the cash and have been trying to get top dollar for their most saleable asset, but now it’s best to just get rid of him and make sure that it’s done quickly.
He doesn’t want to be here and now we don’t want him here either if this is how he’s going to behave towards the club that gave him everything. Get him out and spend the money wisely on a replacement or two to avoid relegation while he sits on the bench elsewhere.
