Marcelo Bielsa wants £10m Everton package as Wednesday night update emerges
Everton have hit a brick wall in negotiations to hire Marcelo Bielsa with the ex-Leeds United manager demanding a £10million package from the Merseyside club, according to the Independent.
Miguel Delaney reports that Bielsa is “notorious” for months-long negotiations, while the length of the deal has been an issue here as well.
Bielsa is not the only candidate the Toffees are looking at; the likes of Ralph Hassenhuttl, Sam Allardyce and West Brom’s Carlos Corberan are being considered at the moment.
The Toffees ideally like to make an appointment before this weekend, but the process of selection is proving to be difficult at the moment.

Bielsa would be a great appointment from the club, no doubt, but it won’t be easy to lure him away.
Even if the club agree to meet his salary demands, Bielsa may have reservations to join the Merseyside club.
The Argentine is not someone who needs big financial support to build a squad, but he will require the right kind of players to implement his philosophy.
Bielsa is widely regarded as a top-class manager who has inspired managers like Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino during their early management years.
However, he is very stubborn and won’t change his philosophy under any circumstance.
Moreover, Bielsa doesn’t look like a manager who can be a quick-fix solution for the club. Right now, the focus is on avoiding relegation.
Bielsa needs time and a proper pre-season to get his message clear to his players. Appointing him now could be a huge disaster.
The last thing the club want is that the cycle to repeat again. An improvement in results is necessary, and the club should take time in getting the right candidate.
