Everton on prowl to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Thorgan Hazard

Everton are on the transfer prowl and looking at a potential deal for Borussia Dortmund winger Thorgan Hazard before the 31 January deadline, according to DHnet.

The report claims that PSV Eindhoven are also eyeing up a move for Hazard with the silky winger falling out of favour at Dortmund this season.

Hazard is more than often confined to a role on the German giants’ bench, something which may open the door for a potential move to Goodison Park.

“The case is not concluded yet. The attacking midfielder could discover England and the Premier League. In difficulty in the league with a penultimate place in the standings, Everton would like to secure his services,” as quoted by DHnet. (30 January)

“It remains to be seen whether our compatriot will favour the fight for the title with PSV or the fight for maintenance with the Toffees.”

No thanks.

It’s hard to say whether or not a move for Hazard would actually be fulfilled until Sean Dyche is announced as the new Everton head coach.

Whether or not Hazard is on Dyche’s shortlist of talents he wants to bring to Merseyside is up for debate and until we know that it’s a tough call to say whether he’d move to the Premier League.

Hazard is definitely talented and Everton does need a winger to replace Anthony Gordon, although at 31 years old the Belgian may be past his best years.

The Blues need to invest in young and hungry talents, not players nearing the end of their careers and needing their last big payday.

This is kind of what Hazard is screaming right now and despite him being a decent player on his day, Everton should probably avoid this one.

Everton will likely be linked with all sorts of names and characters in the next 24 hours and this transfer story seems like one of them.
