Everton set for Sean Dyche announcement with two transfers likely before deadline

Everton will reportedly announce the arrival of former Burnley manager Sean Dyche on Monday, 30 January, a day before the window closes.

According to 90Min journalist Chris Smith, there will be two players likely to follow him through the exit door ahead of the 31 January deadline.

The Toffees have had a quiet window in terms of incomings but have seen Anthony Gordon leave for Newcastle and Amadou Onana linked with a move to a few of the big six clubs.

Via Twitter, Smith wrote, “Sean Dyche to be announced today and a couple of players likely incoming. Everton leave their business frustratingly late, but it does make for a crazy last couple of days of the window.”

Shambolic

Dyche has not even officially begun work as manager and there are less than 48 hours left before the window slams shut.

This is classic Everton as they’ve left everything until the last minute and all they’re going to get is stopgap signings.

We’re not going to see them pull out a gem from Europe who’s going to hit the ground running and be the next big thing.

Everton

They’ve made good money from the Gordon sale, but we do not see them spending it wisely as the manager is unlikely to have too much say in this matter.

They should’ve ideally announced him a few days ago and given him time to use his contacts and bring in the players he wants.

These signings could be board driven and they’ve made some dodgy decisions in the past transfer markets so it remains to be seen if they actually end up bettering the team.
