Everton offered chance to sign Genk striker Paul Onuachu on transfer deadline day
Everton have been offered the chance to sign Genk striker Paul Onuachu as Sean Dyche continues to search for attacking reinforcements on deadline day, according to Simon Jones.
The Toffees desperately want to sign a striker to resolve their goal shortage this season, and the departure of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle has given new manager Dyche a lucrative purse to work with.
And the Merseysiders have been offered a golden opportunity to sign the top scorer from the Belgian Jupiler League this season but face competition from fellow Premier League strugglers Southampton.

“Some news coming out of Finch Farm: Everton have been offered the chance to sign 6ft 7ins Genk striker Paul Onuachu,” wrote Jones on the Daily Mail transfer blog (Tuesday 31 January, 11:30am).
“The 28-year-old was the subject of an offer from Southampton last week with Genk originally asking for £16m. Everton are pursuing a number of options.”

Goalscorer
Onuachu has been in the form of his life this season and would definitely provide the goals Dyche needs to propel themselves away from the relegation zone.
The Genk forward has scored 16 goals in 19 games this term, and although the Premier League is a huge step up in quality, you feel he has the ability to bridge the gap.
It is not just this season that Onuachu has banged in the goals, having hit the back of the net 79 times since signing for the Belgian club back in 2019.
At 6ft 7ins tall, he is the perfect target man for Dyche to work with and would suit the 4-4-2 formation that he likes to instil.
The only issue would be that the striker is similar to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and one of the pair would likely have to sit on the bench most weeks as they wouldn’t be able to lineup in a front two.
