Sean Dyche uses three words to describe Everton squad to his friends amid transfer woes
New Everton boss Sean Dyche has reportedly told friends that he has kept “much worse squads” than the one he has inherited at Goodison Park and fancies his chances at Premier League survival, according to iNews journalist Mark Douglas.
The former Burnley manager was appointed Blues boss on Monday [Sky Sports, 30 January] following the sacking of Frank Lampard in what’s been another disappointing campaign so far for the Merseysiders, currently sitting in the relegation places.
The Toffees endured a frustrating and inactive January transfer window which saw them linked with many players, but not bringing in any signings to strengthen Dyche’s new squad.

And with the 51-year-old starting work ahead of a crucial period for him and his team, he’s reportedly relaxed about the current squad at his disposal.
According to Douglas, writing for iNews [1 February], revealed that Dyche has told his close circle that he’s kept “much worse squads” than the one’s taken over and is “undeterred” by the state of the current setup.
The report also goes to state that the former Burnley coach sees enough in the team to convince him that he plot a path to Premier League safety this season.
Optimistic
In what’s been a torrid month of transfer inactivity, much of the Toffees fanbase will be cautiously optimistic about Dyche’s comments on his current squad.
The Toffees badly need reinforcements, though, and that’s further compounded by the few goals they recorded this season, scoring just 15 from 20 Premier League games which is their third-worst record in the division.

And how Dyche attempts to transform this squad and turn around their confidence in front of goal seems quite uncertain.
However, he’s done it many times before and there is a case to argue that he has indeed had worse squads before where he’s managed to work miracles.
The Toffees do hold some firepower in their weaponry with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Demarai Gray, Alex Iwobi and Dwight McNeil having a crucial part to play in the club’s season.
But with their rivals around them in the table considerably strengthening in the market, it will take a special sort of a miracle for Dyche to achieve.
