Everton sensation Zan-Luk Leban signs Goodison Park contract extension

Everton Under-21s goalkeeper Zan-Luk Leban has signed a contract extension at Goodison Park until the summer of 2025.

The Toffees took to their official website [4 February] to make the announcement as he’s become a vital member of Paul Tait’s squad.

He has already made 15 Premier League 2 appearances this term and played a key role in the young Toffees’ thrilling run to the last 16 of the Papa John’s Trophy.

Impressive CV

The young starlet has had quite an eventful career and would surely want to make it big at Goodison Park.

A knee ligament injury derailed the talented goalkeeper’s first season at the club, but he displayed enough promise to earn a two-and-a-half-year professional deal in December 2019.

Leban, a Slovenian youth international, participated in all six of Everton Under-18s’ league games in the 2019/20 season before the pandemic ended the campaign.

Everton

Leban started 19 of the Blues’ 24 league games in 2020/21, establishing himself in the Everton Under-18s squad.

As they upset tournament favourites Manchester City and Chelsea, he also played a pivotal role in the Toffees’ remarkable run to the FA Youth Cup quarterfinals.

Leban’s impressive Everton play led to a call-up to the Slovenian team for the co-hosted 2021 UEFA European Under-21s Championship by his home nation and Hungary.

He certainly is one worth keeping an eye on.
