Sky Sports journo shares what Sean Dyche thinks of Everton protesters
Sean Dyche “hasn’t got a problem” with Everton fan protests that have now become commonplace at Premier League games.
As quoted by Sky Sports’ Alan Myers at Thursday’s (16 February) press conference, the Toffees boss struck a sympathetic tone with his comments.
He said, “They’re just trying to get across their point, I certainly haven’t got a problem with that”.
Protests against the Everton board of directors have become more regular as the season has progressed, with sit-ins after Premier League games now common.
Before every game, you can see banners hoisted in the air calling for change and there are almost constant chants during games aimed at Bill Kenwright and Co.
These protests may also be a contributing factor in the board’s decision to stay away from recent home games.
There are also plans to protest before, during and after this weekend’s huge relegation six-pointer against Leeds United, as per Liverpool World.

Playing politics.
Dyche was always going to be asked this question.
It was a matter of time and when the question came and he gave just about the best answer he could have when it did.
No manager in their right mind would come out and criticise the owner of the club they work for. No manager in their right mind would also criticise the fans for being concerned about the ownership and running of the club they have pledged to support.
A “no comment” would also be a bad answer here. It is possible Dyche had prepared this answer before the presser but it came across as genuine and sincere.
Any football fan can sympathise with being annoyed with their club’s owners. Maybe those above Dyche in the chain of command would have preferred him to denounce the protesters, say something along the lines of “we need everyone pulling together on and off the pitch”.
But football fans aren’t stupid. Toffees fans would have been spurred in their protests if anything.
Dyche has absolutely nailed his comments here as his man-of-the-people persona continues to impress.
