Everton board ‘not welcome’ at Goodison Park as fan group statement shared

Everton fan groups have made it clear in a statement that there will be peaceful protests before every game at Goodison Park for the rest of the season.

Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers has shared the joint statement on Twitter from the fan groups who made it clear that the board members are “not welcome” at Goodison Park ever again.

Chairman Bill Kenwright, chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale, chief finance and strategy officer Grant Ingles and non-executive director Graeme Sharp have not attended the previous two matches at Goodison Park, and the fan group has warned that if the board members pay a visit to the game, they will be met with a post-match protest outside the director’s car park.

“Furthermore, we would like to make the current board aware that they are not welcome at Goodison Park this season or ever again,” wrote fan groups.

“If you choose to attend, you will be met with a post-match protest held outside the director’s car park following the game. We will make you aware once again that you are not welcome now, and you never will be again.”

Distraction

Sean Dyche has made it clear this week that he understands the passion and frustrations of the fans, and that people have the right to express their views, as long as it is peaceful and respectful.

The protest will go on but at the same time, the fan groups have made it clear that they don’t want the manager and the team to get distracted.

The Toffees are in the relegation zone at the moment and Dyche will need the support of the fans to get positive results, especially at Goodison Park.

Everton

The next two games are vital for the club. The away record has been very poor this season, and it’s the home form that could save the Toffees.

They face Leeds and Aston Villa in their next two games, and the Toffees should aim for six points. Leeds are just one point above the Toffees, so it can be seen as a potential relegation six-pointer.
