£35m claim made as Jordan Pickford set to sign Everton contract with no relegation clause
Jordan Pickford’s new contract at Everton is reportedly not going to have a clause that gets activated in the instance of them getting relegated.
According to the Times journalist Paul Joyce on 23 February, the deal will be worth £35million to the player who will commit his future to the club until 2027.
The paperwork on the agreement has now been completed and the club are now close to making it official.

Good move
We’re surprised that Pickford did not include a relegation clause in his deal as a lot of players being targeted by top clubs usually do.
He was on the radar of Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester United and there were even reports of a Champions League clause being a part of his contract.
However, that is only good news for Everton and Sean Dyche who’s played a key role in convincing the England number one to stay at the club.

There were clear doubts when Frank Lampard was in charge and Pickford did not come close to signing an extension then.
Few weeks into the Dyche era, something’s changed and the Toffees keeper looks set to commit his future for the next four years.
Hopefully, he can keep them up and continue the good performances of this season as he’s been one of their best players.
