Jordan Pickford contract announcement imminent, Everton four-year deal agreed
Everton are set to announce Jordan Pickford’s new contract “imminently” as the 28-year-old looks set to commit his future to the Merseyside club, according to The Telegraph.
The Toffees’ shot-stopper is set to sign a four-year contract, which will keep him at Goodison Park until the summer of 2027 (The Telegraph, 23 February).
It’s understood the club are eager for a deal to be concluded soon and that an announcement is now being readied ahead of Pickford committing his future to the club after several months of discussions.

Superb news
Manchester United have been long-term admirers of the 28-year-old with The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath suggesting (24 September) Pickford was being monitored as a potential replacement for David de Gea. There was a clear and obvious chance that he could have departed Goodison Park this summer, with his deal set to expire in the summer of 2024.
The news of Pickford’s imminent extension is a huge show of faith in Sean Dyche. The former Burnley manager is clearly highly thought of by the 28-year-old. He would not be extending if he thought there was a genuine chance of Everton being relegated.

He evidently feels that Dyche is the right man to take the Toffees to the next level and avoid a nervous end to the 2022/23 campaign. Pickford has been consistent for Everton over the past two seasons, and although he has a mistake in him, he’s arguably the club’s most important player at present.
This is a brilliant way to head into Saturday’s fixture against Aston Villa.
