Kris Boyd left making high-pitched scream live on Sky Sports in reaction to chaos in Everton clash with Aston Villa
Kris Boyd could barely speak during a chaotic incident which saw Everton have numerous attempts and Tyrone Mings clear one off the line for Aston Villa.
In the second half of the unfortunate 2-0 defeat at Goodison Park on Saturday Dwight McNeil floated a free kick to the far post which Seamus Coleman got a head to before it came out to Alex Iwobi on the edge of the box.
The Nigerian’s shot hit a prone Ezri Konsa before spinning into the six-yard box for Neal Maupay to head past Emi Martinez, only to see Tyrone Mings clear it off the line to leave Boyd unable to describe the drama and just making a high-pitched noise.
Relaying the action live on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday (25 February, 4.13pm) the pundit said: “Dwight McNeil’s standing over this. It’s just to the left of the goal. He’s dinked it to the back stick, Seamus Coleman goes to win it… out of the box, Iwobi! Oh it’s…”
At that point he lost his words all together and just let out a scream before crying, “It’s cleared off the line! Tyrone Mings manages to get it off the line. I’m not sure who heads it, might be Neal Maupay. Dwight McNeil again, shot, blocked.
Turning to Jeff Stelling he added: “Well, what a stramash that was Jeff.”
Cursed
Maupay will be wondering what he has to do to get the spotlight off of him as a flop in attack for Everton, after he came within inches of breaking the deadlock when the score was still goalless.
Had Mings not been in the right place at the right time there is every chance that goal would have changed the game, with the opener eventually coming from the penalty spot after Anthony Taylor adjudged Idrissa Gana Gueye to have fouled John McGinn.
Instead Sean Dyche suffers his first defeat at home and the Toffees striker’s long goal drought continues.

It was a chaotic series of events that couldn’t have come much closer to seeing the home side take the lead, through an attacking player for once.
There was a decent amount of misfortune on the day, but the result has highlighted the amount of work still to do in this relegation battle.
Two wins from Dyche’s first three matches has opened the door to a revival, but this is still a side that was sinking like a stone under Frank Lampard and has a lot of uncertainty off the pitch, so it is going to need a lot more fight, and fortune, to turn things around.
