Sky Sports pundit blown away by Sean Dyche impact at Everton

Jermaine Beckford lauds Sean Dyche for his simple style of football after Everton secured a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, 5 March.

The point picked up at the City Ground was the first one Dyche has got away from Goodison Park this season and his side put up a fight and even looked threatening enough to win the game.

Demarai Gray and Abdoulaye Doucoure got themselves on the scoresheet while Brennan Johnson bagged a brace for the hosts.

Speaking on the Premier League Weekend Wrap Up, Beckford, a Sky Sports pundit, said on 06/03, 22:19, “Huge improvements since he’s gone in. Simple style of football. Worked in the past and works again for these players too.”

Efficient

Dyche’s style of football may not be pleasing to the eye in every game, but it’s efficient and can get the job done, securing vital points along the way.

He wasn’t given any new signing in January so even if he wanted to play a slightly more expansive game, he did not have the players for it.

Frank Lampard came in as an attack-minded manager and there were no tactical nuances in his game to prove he was the right man for the job.

In a relatively short time at Everton, Dyche has brought about certain tactical changes and he seems like the right man to keep them up.

The club needs to do its bit and back him in the summer as this squad has a number of weaknesses and it needs to be addressed with new players.

He’s already managed to make Dwight McNeil look like the player he was at Burnley while the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Amadou Onana and even Gray now look to be enjoying themselves.
