Everton completed undercover Moise Kean sale to Juventus last Tuesday

Moise Kean’s permanent Everton exit to Juventus was completed last Tuesday despite news only coming out a week later, Alan Myers reports.

The Italian international has been on loan back in Turin for the past two seasons and was always in line to complete a permanent return to the club the Toffees originally signed him from in 2019.

The Old Lady made the decision to trigger the permanent clause in the loan early, for a fee believed to be €28million [£25million] according to GOAL Italia’s Romeo Agresti.

And it appears the deal was completed a week ago without the news becoming public, according to Sky Sports man Myers.

He reported via Twitter on Tuesday evening (7 March): “Moise Kean was a Juventus player as of last Tuesday”.

Financial boost

This should be a timely boost to the Everton finances ahead of what is surely going to be a busy summer transfer window, assuming Sean Dyche can keep the club in the Premier League.

It is the latest big-money departure in the past year, after Anthony Gordon’s £45million move to Newcastle in January, and Richarlison’s £60million exit to Tottenham in the summer.

However, the transfer arrivals have left a lot to be desired in an attacking sense, with Neal Maupay having only scored a single goal for the club.

Owner Farhad Moshiri had claimed ahead of the January window that a striker would be brought in, but amid Frank Lampard being sacked and replaced by Dyche not a single player arrived.

If the new boss can drag this side to safety with what he already has in the building he is sure to insist on a decent chunk of the recent transfer proceeds being spent on a goalscorer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s fitness has simple not held up for any length of time over the past two seasons, to the point where even Kean, who struggled to adapt to life at Goodison, would have been useful.

Despite his unsatisfying time as an Everton player he is one of the few expensive signings who has actually been turned into a profit, and that now needs to be used to strengthen.
