Everton transfer news as Bundesliga duo join race for Middlesbrough’s Chuba Akpom
Werder Bremen and Borussia Monchengladbach will join Everton in the race to sign Middlesbrough forward Chuba Akpom this summer, according to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The report claims that the Bundesliga duo could look to launch summer bids for Akpom who is also being chased by the Toffees, Southampton and Crystal Palace.
Middlesbrough activated a one-year contract extension last summer to keep the striker at the club until June 2024 after his red-hot form captured the attention of clubs from around Europe.

“Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that two German Bundesliga clubs are genuinely interested in signing Middlesbrough’s Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom ahead of the reopening of the transfer window,” as quoted by Allnigeriasoccer.com. (7 March)
“Werder Bremen and Borussia Mönchengladbach are facing competition for the services of Akpom, with Premier League trio Everton, Southampton and Crystal Palace also interested in signing the red-hot striker.”

Versatile.
Akpom is a solid talent for the Blues to be pursuing and it’s easy to see why he’s garnering so much attention from top clubs around the continent.
Boro have done everything to keep him at the club which is also a testament to how good Akpom is, something Everton should consider in their pursuit.
The Nigerian’s versatility is also a glowing trait that could be a priceless asset to have in the Blues squad, with the forward able to play centrally up top and also in attacking midfield.
At 27 years old, Akpom still has plenty of playing years left in the tank and is currently thriving under the tutorage of Michael Carrick.
His 22 goals in 30 appearances for Boro so far this season is something Everton fans could only dream of having right now and it’s this deadly nature in front of goal that Sean Dyche desperately needs.
