Everton: Sky Sports pundit wowed by what he saw in priceless 1-0 victory over Brentford
Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison heaped praise on Everton for an “outstanding” defensive performance in their crucial 1-0 win over Brentford at Goodison Park.
Dwight McNeil’s scorcher after 35 seconds was enough to earn Everton a priceless victory over Brentford to move out of the Premier League relegation places.
The Toffees kicked off in 18th place but capitalised on teams around them failing to win, leaping two points and three places above the drop zone in what was a significant result for the club.

And Everton boss Sean Dyche will have been delighted by the defensive efforts of his players, for which Morrison lavished praise on the Blues live on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday [11 March, 4:57 pm].
He said: “Brentford were too slow in possession, but credit to Everton.
“They’ve been outstanding in this second half, defending.”
Huge win
The Toffees have now won three of their seven Premier League games since Dyche’s arrival in January, as many as previous boss Frank Lampard recorded in his 20 games this season.
Dyche will have been absolutely ecstatic with his side’s energy, aggression and defensive excellence against a Brentford side entering the contest 12-games unbeaten.

The club had James Tarkowski and Michael Keane to thank who were sensational at the back for the Blues, also Idrissa Gueye who has been heavily criticised in recent weeks put in a dominant showing at the base of midfield.
The Toffees’ home form will be their saving grace in the coming weeks and so has it been so far, winning three of their four home games under the former Burnley manager.
This is a huge win for their aspirations. The question is now can they keep the momentum going to climb further away from the dreaded drop zone?
If they produce some more defending like they did against the Bees and find a way to hit the net more often they can.
