Yannick Bolasie sends six-word message to Everton hero Ellis Simms after 2-2 draw v Chelsea
Yannick Bolasie has sent a heart-warming six-word message to Everton hero Ellis Simms after his goal in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Saturday (18 March).
The Toffees earned a huge draw at Stamford Bridge, fighting from a goal down twice thanks to Abdoulaye Doucoure and Simms’ late finish to help the team stay in 15th place and two-points clear of the relegation zone heading into the international break.
It was Simms’ first Premier League goal of his career and was brilliantly taken as he beat Kalidou Koulibaly for pace before slotting past Kepa Arrizabalaga, and former Everton winger Bolasie took to his own personal Twitter account to send him a message and praise him.
“Go on Ellis! You deserve that,” he wrote.

Simms spent the first half of the season on loan at Sunderland, scoring seven goals before being recalled in January by Frank Lampard with the team in desperate need of goals and low on funds to make any signings.
But despite being recalled, he barely got a run-out until Dyche came in and gave him a start against Liverpool out of nowhere and it was no surprise when he struggled to make an impact.

However, Sean Dyche has shown that he clearly sees something in the youngster and trusts him to make an impact in the big games and he’s now been rewarded.
A confident Simms is exactly the type of striker that Dyche would love to have in his side, as he is big, powerful, strong, technical and a willing runner.
It’s another source of goals which is something the team has been desperate for, but also a truly heartwarming story that an academy talent can come through and make an impact at such a big moment in the season for the team.
