Everton: Beto agent drops ‘not normal’ update as Toffees eye £26million summer raid

Beto’s agent has opened up on his future at Udinese amid heavy links between Everton and the 25-year-old Serie A striker.

It’s believed the Portuguese forward, who has nine league goals in the 2022/23 season, is open to a move away from Italian side. Everton were looking to land him in the January window and according to Udinese Blog [22 February], the Toffees could go again in the summer with a £26million offer.

Now his agent, Paulo Regula, has opened up on his player’s future and claimed a number of clubs are aware of the striker’s performances for the Italian side.

“Everyone sees what Beto is doing,” said Regula (exclusive interview with Sport Italia, 20 March).

“We see it and the top clubs see it in the same way. His performance speaks for itself and it’s not normal, given the fact that, as I said, he arrived in Italy from a lesser reality.

“This is that arouses the interest of big clubs, I find it normal.”

There’s clearly a lot of interest in the Portuguese frontman and Everton should be looking to pursue a summer move, if he becomes available.

Regula has now made it clear to a number of potential suitors of the “big” interest in the striker and this could see a plethora of clubs move quickly in the summer. The Toffees did look like the only interested party in the January window, but they could now face a far tougher task in the summer.

Looking to reignite their interest as a matter of priority as soon as the season finishes will give the board the best chance of landing Beto.

Another forward is an absolute must for Sean Dyche in the summer – regardless of the Toffees’ league status. When Demarai Gray is starting as the main striker, something is seriously wrong.

Ellis Simms was the hero at Stamford Bridge during the 2-2 against Chelsea and there’s hope he will be a promising asset going forward. However, a proven goalscorer has been absent for far too long.

Another attempt for Beto will depend largely on which league Everton are playing their football in come the start of the next season.

If Dyche can continue his good work and steer the club to safety then another big money offer could be on the cards. It’s clear his agent is aware of the interest and his comments have been aired to stir interest in his client. This is one to keep a close eye on.
