Everton: Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright stink again as they go back on fan promise to renew General Meetings
Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright have failed the Toffees fanbase yet again as they fail to adhere to their promise to club fans of holding annual general meetings.
Everton shareholders have once again spoken of their disappointment at the club’s decision not to reinstate Annual General Meetings, according to the Daily Record [23 March].
Discussions about their possible return were held in a Zoom call with the Everton Shareholders Association, Moshiri and Kenwright last summer.

It is believed that neither the Blues’ majority shareholder or chairman objected to the proposal, which would see the meetings return after a 12-month hiatus.
However, the Shareholders Association revealed on Thursday 23 March that the club’s CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale informed them that the club currently have no intentions of reinstating them.
“Everton Shareholders’ Association is disappointed and concerned that despite the chair of the board of Everton Football Club, Bill Kenwright and majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, saying in a Zoom meeting of July 2022 that they have no objections to having Annual General Meetings, no meeting has taken place for more than two years,” the statement read.
This has become a long-running theme in regard to the Toffees board.
We’ve seen countless correspondence and letters written to the club chiefs where the supporters have urged them to update them on club activity and to address recent club failings, but to no avail.
It is yet another sorry development for the Blues faithful who have been pandering and demanding a sale of the club for so long now, especially after reports last month [iNews, 22 February] that MSP Sports Capital, the firm, headed by Jahm Najafi, has been in communication with Moshiri over the purchase of as much as a quarter of the club, valued at £105million.

Now, they are rejecting annual general meetings to give fans the update they desire which really isn’t a good look for Moshiri and Kenwright once again. The club’s fans desperately deserve answers, they deserve transparency and ongoing updates as to the state and business of the club.
For too long now, the Toffees board have been silent which is leading to further unrest. It’s time someone from the inside stands up and takes responsibility for the board’s consistent incompetence and lack of strategic planning.
Just who is going to hold both the owner and chairman accountable for their actions?
