Harry Redknapp delivers Everton v Spurs verdict after Antonio Conte departure live on talkSPORT

Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham will remain an inconsistent side despite the sacking of Antonio Conte and that Sean Dyche’s Everton will pose a “tough game” at Goodison Park.

The Toffees will look to build on their three-match unbeaten run, which has seen the club climb up to 15th in the Premier League, when they take on a Spurs side led by former assistant Christian Stellini next Monday (3 April).

Speaking live on talkSPORT Breakfast (Monday, 27 March, 9:45am), former Spurs manager Redknapp admitted that Everton could thrive as the underdogs in this game and Dyche would be urging his players to get stuck into their opponents from the first whistle.

Everton

“They [Spurs] will still be the same,” he said. “They will have great days where they will be fantastic, and they will have days where they are short in two or three areas to be where they want to be.

“They need to bring in a couple of players to make a difference to them, and until they get those players, I think they will be quite inconsistent until the end of the season.

“No, I don’t see any difference. It’s the same voice. I know Conte isn’t there, but his right-hand man and his assistants are still around, so I wouldn’t see [any change].

“But that’s a tough game because Everton will be after them. Sean Dyche will say, ‘listen, let’s get amongst these from the very first whistle,’ and it’s whether they’re up for it or not.”

Great opportunity

Dyche couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to take points from Spurs this season.

Everton’s opponents have always been an inconsistent side under Conte, but now after his departure, the club remains in limbo.

The Toffees, on the other hand, are bang in form on the back of a pair of draws against Nottingham Forest and Chelsea and a brilliant win versus Brentford.

If Everton get stuck into the game from the very first whistle and attempt to ruffle some feathers early on, there is no reason they cannot continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League and come away with three points.

The likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung Min and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have all been busy on international leave over the last fortnight and may be a little lethargic considering their exploits.

Although the likes of Jordan Pickford and Vitalii Mykolenko faced off at Wembley on Sunday, the majority of Dyche’s troops have been at Finch Farm perfecting their game plans and readying themselves for the Spurs test that awaits.
