Mark Lawrenson predicts Everton v Tottenham Hotspur Premier League clash

Mark Lawrenson has predicted Everton and Tottenham Hotspur to share the spoils when they meet each other at Goodison Park on Monday.

The Toffees will be looking to make their home advantage count as they’ve enjoyed a decent run there under Sean Dyche.

They’ve beaten Arsenal, Leeds and Brentford and will be looking to pick up another three points against Cristian Stellini’s men.

Everton

Lawrenson told Paddy Power, predicting a 1-1 result, “Cristian Stellini’s done a great job stepping in for Antonio Conte until they went and lost to Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

“Conte’s wanted to go for ages, that was obvious. It was one of the world’s worst-kept secrets. He did what he did in that press conference knowing that they’d have to sack him.

“You just don’t know what Tottenham are going to turn up.

“It’s a big game for Everton, I think they’ll be into them. Goodison, when the supporters know they need a win, is a really difficult place to go.”

Draw on the cards

Teams surely do not like visiting Goodison Park especially when the fans are behind their manager like how things are now under Dyche.

The confidence has crept back in and each time they play at home, there is a feeling that they can get something from the game.

Everton

Spurs are currently all over the place so it is the perfect time to play them and the players may not see Stellini any different to Conte.

He was in charge recently and the style of football wasn’t remarkably contrasting and it’s not something that these players aren’t capable of.

They’ve played exciting football under Mauricio Pochettino not too long ago and this defensive brand of football does not suit them.

Everton will make things as difficult for them and hit them on the break so we’re expecting this to be an enthralling game.
