Sam Matterface drops prediction for Everton v Tottenham Premier League clash
Sam Matterface has back Everton to beat Tottenham 2-0 at Goodison Park on Monday evening to pull further clear of the relegation zone.
Sean Dyche’s side are unbeaten in three Premier League matches and are coming off of an impressive 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Matterface feels Spurs’ “stinky” away form could well see the home side register an important three points (3 April).

“Everton have had a terrible season but Sean Dyche said yesterday the stats are improving week by week,” said Matterface (talkSPORT Breakfast, 07:41, 31 March).
“Spurs’ away from has been stinky, they’ve lost four and drawn one of their last five and let’s be completely honest, they know when to press the self-destruct button. I am going 2-0 Everton, James Tarkowski to score.”
Fast start
Tottenham have been extremely suspect on the road during the 2022/23 season, so there’s definitely an opportunity for the Toffees to exploit. A partisan Goodison Park crowd, a home team in good form, and an away side in disarray – there’s certainly a chance for Dyche’s men on Monday.
The fixture against Cristian Stellini’s side marks the middle of a tough run of fixtures for Everton, with a trip to Manchester United on the horizon. However, after recent performances and results, the Merseysiders will fancy their chances against whoever they come up against.

In terms of selection, it will be refreshing to see Ellis Simms given a start after his heroics in West London. The 22-year-old has long been waiting for an extended run in the side and after his goal against Chelsea, Dyche could throw him in from the outset.
A fast start and another defensive masterclass could see another priceless three points added to the Toffees’ points tally.
