Heads will roll at Everton as Bramley-Moore Dock stadium embarrassment emerges

Everton are due to move into their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium at the start of the 2024/25 season with the build now beginning to take shape.

From the outside, it looks like an impressive feat of engineering which could end up being an excellent long-term home for the Toffees to finally propel themselves up the Premier League.

For far too long, the blue side of Merseyside has been subjected to abject teams being assembled and the threat of relegation a genuine possibility.

Everton are planning to move from Goodison Park to their new stadium by 2025.

If Sean Dyche can steer Everton to safety and consolidate in the 2023/24 season, everything will seem positive, right? The answer is a resounding no.

The latest news to break regarding the new stadium is extremely grim reading and could force Farhad Moshiri to finally step away from his position.

Daily Mail columnist Ian Herbert has suggested (4 April) that Everton could be forced into selling their new stadium if they’re relegated to the Championship in a bid to raise funds. The Toffees would then become tenants in their new home.

It’s believed the stadium will cost in the region of £500million (Daily Mail, 2 January) and if it is sold, it would turn into a half-a-billion-pound embarrassment for the board and Moshiri.

Surely the Everton owner’s position would reach an untenable position and he would have to take a step back after leading the club into a financial disaster.

Furthermore, the uniqueness of the potential situation would see the frustration towards the board reach boiling point. The pressure is now firmly on Dyche to steer his side to Premier League safety as soon as possible.
