Everton loanee Dele Alli ruled out for rest of season with hip injury

Dele Alli has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season with a hip injury and has returned to Everton from his loan at Besiktas, says the Daily Mail.

The former England international joined the Turkish club on a season-long loan deal last summer, but has fallen out of favour at the club and hasn’t played since February.

And now a report on Sunday (9 April) claims that Dele has suffered a hip muscle injury that will rule him out of action for up to ten weeks, meaning he won’t play again this season.

Dele flew back to England this week to receive treatment on the injury, and his loan deal is now likely to be cut short to keep him with his parent club.

Decision time

Nobody seems to have any idea about whether or not Dele has a future at Goodison Park beyond this summer, but it certainly doesn’t seem likely.

He was supposed to go to Turkey to kickstart his career after a troubled few years in the Premier League, but it didn’t work out that way at all and his reputation has just nose-dived even further.

It’s believed that he is on huge wages and with the current financial situation at Everton the chances of him sticking around are slim to none.

But the same could have been said for Michael Keane and Abdoulaye Doucoure before Sean Dyche arrived, but both players are now pivotal to the team and are two of the first names on the team sheet.

If Everton are able to stay in the Premier League next season, or potentially even if they go down to the Championship, and Dele can sort out his issues to impress Dyche then who knows what will happen down the line.

One thing is for sure though, and that’s that his Turkish adventure is over.
