Journalist accuses Everton of lying about Dele Alli injury for image purposes as Besiktas loan ends early
Everton have been accused of lying about Dele Alli’s latest injury to protect the image of the player after his Besiktas loan was cut short.
Dele joined the Turkish side on a season-long loan last summer but hasn’t played since February and has now been ruled out for the rest of the season with a hip injury, returning to Merseyside for treatment.
But according to journalist Serdar Saridag, Everton have exaggerated the injury in order to protect the player because he is only actually out for three weeks but Besiktas have cancelled the loan.
“How can the doctors’ detection here be 3 weeks and 10 weeks in the UK?” he said, as quoted by Skorer (10 April).
“The Dele Alli brand is also very important here. Does Beşiktaş part ways with Dele Alli sounds better, or is it that they closed the season due to injury?”
Wow
That’s quite the statement from this journalist, but it wouldn’t be at all surprising if it were true would it?
Dele hasn’t got a future in Turkey and it’s no surprise they don’t want him at the club considering the comments from the manager recently in public.

But Everton were also adamant that he would stay in Turkey, and neither team would want to fold considering he can’t go anywhere else between now and the summer window.
An injury gives both teams a way out of the situation and would leave questions to the sideline, because even though he’s back at Everton his attitude wouldn’t be questioned.
This statement from the journalist suggests however that Besiktas want it to be clear that the player is fine and just isn’t wanted at their club, and that should raise red flags for Everton and any other club potentially looking at signing him going forward.
