Midfielder Isaac Price decides Everton not right for him with transfer close

Isaac Price has reportedly decided that Everton aren’t the right club for him as a Goodison Park exit now appears to be on the cards.

According to the Daily Mail [10 April], despite holding talks with the club over a new contract, he’s now “close” to joining Standard Liege.

The 19-year-old had an admirer in Frank Lampard but is now expected to seal a cut-price compensation deal and move to Belgium.

Let him go

If Price isn’t close to the first-team setup, he’s obviously not being rated highly by Sean Dyche and it’s his call that matters, at the end of the day.

This Everton midfield has solidified under Dyche so he clearly knows what he wants from his players and will demand a certain level of quality in that area of the pitch.

Idrissa Gueye, Amadou Onana and Abdoulaye Doucoure have all improved over the past few weeks and James Garner too appears to be getting integrated well with the rest of his teammates.

Price made his league debut on the final day of last season and hasn’t done overly well for the under-21s to stake a claim for a place in the matchday squad.

If he does not want to renew his deal, then Everton should demand decent compensation for training him and part ways with him.

There will be plenty of better young players that will work harder to make it to the first team so it’s not worth fretting about.
