Conor Coady set for Sean Dyche talks on future transfer, may now want to leave Everton – Sky Sports pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Conor Coady may no longer want to stay at Everton and discussions between him and Sean Dyche could see him leave the club, believes Kevin Campbell.
The on-loan Wolves man was a “huge success” early in the season [Telegraph, 5 October] under Frank Lampard, forming a strong partnership with James Tarkowski and even wearing the captain’s armband once, but has since fallen out of favour under Dyche.
His permanent transfer for £4.5million was considered odds-on at one point but after losing his Everton and England place Campbell would not be surprised to see him gone at the end of the season.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News the Sky Sports pundit said of the defender now preferring to leave: “Yeah maybe that’s the case. They’re all good men and they’ll have a clear conversation about it. And I’m sure it will be an honest conversation.
“If Conor Coady wasn’t going to be first choice then what’s the point in him staying?
“Between him and Sean Dyche I think Everton have the first option on him.
“They’ll have a discussion and if it doesn’t work out Conor Coady won’t struggle to get a club, that’s for sure.”

If Coady is going to play then £4.5million for a highly experienced Premier League defender with international experience is a reasonable price to pay, despite the deficiencies he may have.
But if Dyche doesn’t rate him, and in turning to the previously struggling Michael Keane he presumably doesn’t, then there are younger options waiting in the wings as back up so the deal wouldn’t make sense.
It is a rapid fall for the 30-year-old this season, but it has pretty much mirrored that of the team itself, so goes down as just one of many disappointing footnotes from another miserable campaign.
