Farhad Moshiri may be closer than ever to selling Everton after takeover news emerges in last 24 hours
Everton fans may finally be on the path to having their greatest wishes fulfilled, with Farhad Moshiri getting ever closer to packing his bags at Goodison Park for good.
The Athletic reported on Monday morning (17 April) that 777 Partners – a Miami-based group that holds stakes in German outfit Hertha Berlin, Genoa and Standard Liege – maintain a “serious interest” in investing in the Merseyside club despite their plethora of issues.
777 Partners are not the only group to hold an active interest in Everton football club, with MSP Sports Capital also said to be interested in a stake in the club as Sky Sports reported today (18 April) that investment was imminent.

With multiple suitors expressing their intrigue at investing in Everton, Moshiri will surely look to cut his losses and call time on owning the club.
Since arriving in 2016, the Iranian-born businessman has caused a massive rift within the fanbase, and the protests which have been evident at numerous home games at Goodison Park this season wouldn’t have gone unnoticed.
Although Moshiri has maintained he is not looking for a buyer, a cash-rich offer from the likes of 777 Partners could be enough to change his mind.
With the club’s Premier League status very much at risk right now, the new Bramley-Moor Dock stadium in dire need of investment, and a potential punishment on the way for breaches of profit and sustainability in the 2021/22 season, Moshiri is up to his eyeballs in problems right now.

Football finance expert Dan Plumley told Goodison News that American companies such as 777 Partners could take a “ruthless” approach to investing in Everton, so Moshiri will probably have to make a snap decision on whether he truly thinks clinging onto the club is in his best interests.
Considering the plethora of issues that Moshiri is currently dealing with and the two willing parties who hold an interest in investing in Everton football club, this is the best opportunity the 67-year-old has had to sell the Merseyside club.
The Iranian is as likely as ever to take a bite of this apple and leave Goodison Park for good.
