Harry Redknapp shares Everton relegation prediction ahead of Premier League clash v Crystal Palace
Harry Redknapp believes Everton are “bang in trouble” in their battle against relegation because the team is “bang average”.
The Toffees are currently sitting outside of the relegation zone on goal difference alone after suffering a second straight defeat against Fulham, making it four games without a win.
But Redknapp, speaking to UTCIAD Youtube channel (18 April) believes Sean Dyche will find a way to keep the team up despite them being very ordinary and having no goals in the team.
“They’re still in it, they’re a bang average team I think,” he said.
“Sean’s gone in and done a good job, getting the best out of what he’s got. Frank was the same. What do you do? They’ve got no strikers.
“Calvert-Lewin was the main man but hasn’t played really all year. Where do they score their goals? They’ve got no goals in the team.
“Maupay scored [1] this year, who’s going to score for them? You need goals to win football matches.
“You look at Everton you can’t see anyone getting anywhere near double figures. Their top goalscorer has got about five goals.
“They’re still bang in trouble. Sean will know that and they need a result desperately.
“Frank walked into a poor, bang-average team. Everton is a fantastic football club, great tradition – real knowledgable fans. If you look at the team, it’s a really average group of players, in my opinion. It’s a Championship team. I can’t see a lot when I look at them.
“They spent a few quid, they lost Richarlison who was their best player, probably.
“I think they will survive, I think Sean will just about keep them up. Unless they invest this year and if he gets a bit of backing then maybe they’ll be a bit better but, at the moment, they look very ordinary.”

Find a way
Everything that Redknapp has said is true but we already know that.
This team is barely a Premier League team, and in attack we have got Championship options at best with Ellis Simms and Neal Maupay while Calvert-Lewin can’t stay fit.
The midfield is strong though and that’s where we tend to have our best performances, but defensively we’re not good enough either despite the improvements that Dyche has made.
We have some really tough fixtures coming up and Everton need to find a way to get points and results on the board, because time is really running out.
Crystal Palace are in great form and won’t make things easy on Saturday (22 April) but we have the ability and quality to get something if we perform to our highest qualities. There’s no excuses anymore. We have to get it done.
Moaning about the squad at this point does nothing. We have the summer to address those issues, but what we’re able to do in the summer will be decided by what we do in the next seven games.
