Wilfried Zaha and Nathaniel Clyne ruled out for Crystal Palace ahead of Premier League clash v Everton
Everton have been handed a boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace after Wilfried Zaha and Nathaniel Clyne were ruled out.
Zaha has missed the last two games with a groin injury, while Clyne featured in the 5-1 win over Leeds as a late substitute but missed the win over Southampton last weekend.
And manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that neither player has recovered in time for the game at Selhurst Park, where Everton will be hoping to earn three points and avoid falling into the relegation zone.
“There are no new injury concerns,” Hodgson said, as quoted by the official Palace Twitter account (21 April).
“We hope that Nathaniel Clyne and Wilfried Zaha will return to first-team training next week.”
Huge
Everton went from a run of four unbeaten to four without a win after defeats to Manchester United and Fulham in the last two games, and now they face a Palace side who are absolutely flying.
But despite their wins in the last two games without Zaha in particular, there’s no disputing that the Eagles are a weaker team without their star man in attack.

Considering the position the Toffees find themselves in currently in the league table, it has to be seen as a positive that our opposition are worse off and we must now take advantage of that.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin back in the frame for selection we are stronger going forward too, and Dyche has to ensure that the team is ready to go.
We’re outside the drop zone on goal difference alone right now, and with seven games to go this is a must-win fixture for our hopes of survival.
