777 Partners jet out to Brazil amid unexpected Everton takeover development
The co-founders of 777 Partners have jetted out to Brazil amid speculation they’re closing in on a takeover of Everton Football Club, according to the Liverpool Echo.
TuttoMercatoWeb chief editor Marco Conterio reported on Monday morning (24 April) that the Miami-based investment firm have ramped up their talks to buy Everton completely from Farhad Moshiri.
It remains to be seen whether the Italian journalist’s reporting rings true but the Liverpool Echo reported on Wednesday (26 April) that 777 chiefs Josh Wander and Stephen Pasko are currently in Brazil.

It is understood that the duo, who own £2billion worth of assets, are discussing stadium developments at Vasco da Gama, another club that they own.
Farhad Moshiri is reportedly seeking investment at Goodison Park but the widespread suggestion has always been that he’s willing to sell off a percentage of the Merseyside club but not cede total control.
Believe it when we see it
It’s unlikely that 777 will be replacing Moshiri as the majority shareholder of Everton.
Since losing the backing of Alisher Usmanov, Moshiri has been on the prowl to seek investment at Goodison Park.
He needs the extra cash to help build the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock as well as potentially running the football club if the Blues are relegated this season.
Everything is up in the air at the moment due to Everton’s situation in the league so we doubt that anyone will be considering a complete takeover.

MSP are more than likely also waiting until Everton’s Premier League status is confirmed before making a move and buying into a football club that should be worth a lot more than it is right now under Moshiri.
We’re a mess financially and a mess on the pitch too. However, the latter has more than likely been caused by the former.
We’d be in a better place if Moshiri hadn’t ever bought into Everton but right now, we’d probably be in a worse place if he did sell up and go elsewhere.
Everton need investment right now, not a new owner. They also need fresh faces on the board and someone to sit alongside Moshiri who can stop him from meddling in football affairs.
