Everton in world of trouble after ‘painful’ turn of events in Premier League – Neil Moxley
Everton are in a “world of trouble” following their “painful” collapse against Newcastle on Thursday (27 April).
The Toffees were dismantled by the Magpies in their Premier League clash at Goodison Park, despite home fans turning up in full voice for the huge encounter.
The players could not reciprocate the feeling, however, as they lost 4-1 to Eddie Howe’s men.

Writing about “who’s hot this week” and “who’s not” for the Sunday People (Page 55, 30 April), Moxley put Everton in the latter section, saying: “That collapse against Newcastle was painful.
“Everton are in a world of trouble – just when they don’t need it with the new stadium being built. Heaven knows where relegation would leave them.”

Very worrying times
It’s a very worrying time to be an Everton fan, with the club involved in another relegation battle, having only just managed to stay in the Premier League last time out.
The Toffees now have the chance to make amends for the hammering by Newcastle when they travel to fellow strugglers Leicester on Monday (1 May).
Like Everton, the Foxes have had a season to forget, but even they have managed to find a bit of stability in recent times, with the club unbeaten in their last two matches.
They were forced to come from a goal down on both occasions, firstly to defeat Wolves 2-1 and secondly to draw 1-1 with Leeds United, with their mini-run of form coming at the worst possible time for Everton.
Manager Dean Smith is slowly but surely getting something out of his players, a feat that Sean Dyche will need to achieve sooner rather than later.
