Richard Keys attacks Everton after Alisher Usmanov claim made amid Farhad Moshiri investment hopes
Richard Keys has told Everton to ‘come clean’ over who is really the owner of the club after a government leak revealed Alisher Usmanov has been funding it.
Usmanov was banned from the UK after Russia invaded Ukraine in September 2021, but a report from The Guardian (May 3) claims he continued to fund Everton despite his assets being funded in this country.
And now Keys took to his personal Twitter account (3 May) to call for more transparency from the club around who the owner really is.
“I really do think it’s time there was more transparency at Everton,” he wrote.
“The ‘owner’ has to come clean.”
Moshiri out
There is a reason that Everton fans have been calling for Moshiri to leave the club as soon as possible and it’s because things just don’t add up.
He’s put a lot of money into the club already and had little return for it on the pitch, but is trying to build a new stadium and needs more money to do it.

It was clear Usmanov was helping him and we were in big trouble when he got barred, but seemingly it didn’t stop anything anyway.
We need to get him out, not have him “come clean” because he doesn’t care and to be honest neither do we. We just want people in charge who actually care about the football club and want to make it better.
Everton don’t need someone who wants to make money on us, and that means the quicker Moshiri and Usmanov are nowhere to be seen at this club the better.
