Everton confirmed team news v Brighton: Seamus Coleman out for season

Sean Dyche has revealed his Everton team news ahead of the game against Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Monday, 8 May.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side are fighting for a top four finish while it’s realistically possible and will be looking to at least qualify for the Europa League.

The Toffees, on the other hand, are in the relegation zone and desperately need a win to bail themselves out as soon as possible.

He said, “Coleman will likely be out for the remainder of the season. He has still suffered knee ligament injury, just not ACL.”

“Amadou Onana has trained the last couple of days, he’s fit. Ben Godfrey is out with a groin injury and Coleman injured too.”

This means that Seamus Coleman, Ruben Vinagre, Andros Townsend, Dele Alli and Ben Godfrey will be missing the game.

Must win

Brighton may be very good under De Zerbi but they have also been flaky and dropped points against teams they should be winning.

If Everton make things hard for them like Brentford, Fulham and Nottingham Forest have done, Dyche’s side have a chance of getting a win from this game.

One more win is what’s needed for them to get some momentum and it’ll be ideal if they can get one against Brighton and dent their European ambitions.

Amid a recent revelation, Everton will be breaking a financial record in the Championship if they get relegated and that’s not something that they want to do.

They’re already on the wrong side of FFP and this will only show just how shambolic everything is behind the scenes at Goodison Park.

Hopefully, Dyche can get a tune out of these players in the coming games to ensure they get past the finish line.
