Harry Redknapp stunned by ‘unbelievable’ Dwight McNeil after what he did in Everton win v Brighton
Harry Redknapp has waxed lyrical about Dwight McNeil for his “unbelievable” performance in the 5-1 win against Brighton, naming the Everton attacker as his star performer for the week.
The Toffees returned to winning ways in the Premier League in astonishing style at the AMEX Stadium, blitzing the Seagulls with three first-half goals and a McNeil brace in the second half.
As well as netting twice in the closing stages of the game, the 23-year-old provided an inch-perfect cross for Abdoulaye Doucoure to volley home after 30 minutes.

When naming his team of the week for BetVictor, former manager Redknapp heaped praise on the winger for his string of strong performances for Sean Dyche’s side.
“Next up my star man, it can only be Dwight McNeil, what an unbelievable performance.
“Dwight has been playing well in the last few weeks for Everton but his performance at Brighton was as good as anything I’ve seen from any player in months.
“He didn’t stop running all game, and scored two, assisted one and played a big part in Steele’s own goal.
“He took his two goals so well as well, showing so much composure and quality. Outstanding.”

Stunning
Where this performance from Everton and McNeil came from, who knows, but Dyche will hope they replicate it when they host Premier League leaders Manchester City this Sunday (14 May).
Against a Brighton side who had just toppled Manchester United and possibly had one eye on a push for Champions League football next season, the Toffees simply ran riot and were thoroughly deserving of the dominant scoreline.
The former Burnley attacker was at the heart of every Everton attack, but what was equally impressive was his happiness to track back and double up in defence – a part of his game which was pivotal as the Seagulls exerted large spells of dominance after the break.
Both of his goals were brilliantly taken, and the assist for Doucoure’s goal was a brilliant piece of vision when picking the ball up on the left flank.
More of the same in the coming weeks, please, Dwight.
