Everton transfer news: Beto set for Udinese exit as £8m replacement signed and £4.3m second targeted, Newcastle interested
Beto is set to leave Udinese with the Everton target already replaced by one incoming forward, and another targeted by the Serie A side, Messaggero Veneto reports.
The local outlet suggests that the Portuguese forward is likely to go thanks to the signing of Brenner from FC Cincinnati – quoted at $10million [£7.98million] by Cincinnati.com – with €5million-rated [£4.3million] Fenerbahce attacker Joao Pedro also now being targeted.
That would leave 25-year-old Beto surplus to requirements and with the Toffees having failed once with a sizeable bid of as high as £31million according to Gianluca Di Marzio [Sky Sports, 31 January, 5.15pm] they can now make another run at him.

Newcastle are reported to have also made an approach in the winter window according to Messaggero Veneto, so they would be significant competition, but Mundo Udinese reported on Tuesday (9 May) that Everton are “top of the list” of potential destinations.
Open door
If the Toffees have the financial capabilities to revisit the failed January move it appears to be a very doable deal now thanks to the subsequent developments.
It goes without saying that staying in the Premier League will be a requirement, and fans will be wary of banking on any incoming deals until they are signed and announced after the Arnaut Danjuma debacle.
But Sean Dyche is going to need his forward options boosted even if Dominic Calvert-Lewin can stay fit for a sustained period.

And if he can’t, or if long-mooted interest from elsewhere materialises in the summer transfer window, then reinforcements at the position will be an absolute must.
The addition of a player who has contributed 10 Serie A goals would be welcome, but if they price remains high it may mean a cheaper alternative is required with additional strengthening needed elsewhere and finances presumably tight in light of the FFP charge from the Premier League.
Udinese look to be expecting some decent money to come in if they are planning to continue spending in attack on Pedro – namesake of Watford’s Brighton-bound man – but it remains to be seen whether it will the Toffees who come up with it.
