Supercomputer predicts Everton relegation chances after Leeds United 2-2 draw v Newcastle United
Everton are expected to finish outside of the relegation zone after Leeds United and Newcastle battled to a 2-2 draw, according to a supercomputer.
The Toffees currently sit one point outside the relegation zone following Leeds’ draw on Saturday afternoon (13 May), and have played a game less – which will come against Manchester City on Sunday at Goodison Park (14 May).
But according to FiveThirtyEight (13 May, 14:28) Sean Dyche’s side have a 73% chance of survival as it stands after Saturday’s lunchtime result.

The supercomputer is predicting Everton to finish in 16th place with 35 points at the end of the season, two points clear of the bottom three.
Leeds, Leicester City and Southampton are the three teams predicted to suffer the dread of relegation.
Take it
Obviously in reality the supercomputer’s prediction means very little, but considering that it takes data into account to come up with it’s answer it’s promising.
Everton’s recent performances have been a big improvement on what we have seen for much of the season, with the 5-1 win over Brighton (8 May) a real shock result that has got people backing us to stay up.

But the performance meant it was more than deserved and showed the level that we can reach if we play to our potential.
With Manchester City, Wolves and Bournemouth as our final three fixtures, having our future in our own hands is a huge advantage right now and the fact a lot of our rivals have equally tough games and play before us this weekend is a bonus too.
We all know that we can save ourselves and not rely on favours from others by doing our own jobs and getting points, and data claims we’ll do just that.
Take it, use it as motivation and make sure we’re still a Premier League club next season.
