Everton cannot be bullied on £60m-rated Amadou Onana amid Granit Xhaka transfer news as Arsenal, Chelsea and more line up
Everton star Amadou Onana is being watched by Arsenal and a number of the Premier League’s elite ahead of a potential summer transfer.
The Belgian international joined Goodison Park last summer and has swiftly become a star player this season despite the club currently battling against relegation.
Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad [5 April] revealed that both Arsenal and Chelsea who have a long-held interest are lining up to sign the Goodison Park star man with the report revealing that the Toffees are looking to recoup between £50-£60m for the former Lille midfielder.

The Everton summer signing has been an absolute revelation for the Toffees throughout the campaign and Belgian journalist Sacha Taviolieri revealed on 5 April that there is no official price yet for the midfielder but the Blues will soon hold meetings to decide, with Manchester United also reportedly [TEAMtalk, 9 May] joining the hunt for his signature.
And according to a latest report in The Express [16 May], Onana has again emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal with the Gunners set to lose midfield leader Granit Xhaka at the end of the season
It was only going to be a matter of time before Onana’s performances attracted the attention of Europe’s elite, and it now seems that Everton will face a tough and frustrating fight to keep their star midfielder on their books at Goodison Park.
The Belgian maestro has been an instant hit since his £33m move, showcasing his irresistible and dominant talents from midfield in just his first season in England, and his qualities may warrant a bigger platform than Everton before long.
Onana’s progressive qualities seem an ideal fit for both Arsenal and Chelsea or even the Manchester clubs but if he is to leave this summer, he will have to decide whether he would get the game-time he deserves. That will be a major deal breaker for any move.

And Everton will feel they are in a very pleasing position when it comes to the rampaging midfielder’s future with his contract at Goodison running till 2027.
With that in mind, £50-£60m seems too little to sell him, and we believe he costs more than that considering the current market, and the demand for top-class central midfielders across the continent.
Onana is certainly in that bracket and considering the financial difficulties Everton are wrapped under right now, needing significant funding for the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium and currently embroiled in an FFP investigation – it looks like Dyche is going to have a limited war chest to attack the summer transfer window.
If the Toffees can get one thing right in the off-season, is to not be bullied into selling some of the star players, especially in the sudden event of relegation. Should Everton be forced to sell their star man this summer, they should ensure they squeeze potential suitors dry. £65m-plus should certainly suffice.
